USDA official to meet public at Marianna

MARIANNA, Ark. -- Karis T. Gutter, the U.S. Department of Agriculture deputy undersecretary for farm and foreign agricultural services, will be available to meet with the public to discuss current issues facing the agricultural community. The public listening session will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Lon Mann Cotton Research Station of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture on Arkansas Highway 1 south in Marianna.

Gutter, who wlll be accompanied by Linda Newkirk of the Farm Service Agency, will discuss topics such as disaster programs and the current drought, the Farm Bill, risk management, crop insurance and crop reporting.
